Weather Update 10:30AM Thursday Feb 24

Good Morning:

Here is a quick weather update…

Forecast remains on track…

Some very light snow or flurries (extending well out ahead of the main system that will affect us tonight) will move across the region through the early afternoon. While any snow that falls will be quite light, watch out for a few slick spots on sidewalks, driveways and perhaps on a few local side roads.

Temps will be around 34 or 35 for the rest of today.

The main precipitation begins this evening…

A mixture of sleet and snow will begin around 10PM.. Temps will be around 32 or 33 degrees when the precipitation begins.

Sleet and snow will change to sleet and freezing rain by Midnight (12AM Fri) and continue through the overnight hours.

Temps will be holding around 30 or 31 degrees for the rest of tonight.

The freezing rain and sleet may mix with plain rain south of Allentown (around Pennsburg) by 7-8AM Friday morning. Otherwise, the bulk of the precipitation will be freezing and icy.

Everything tapers off and ends by 11AM-12PM.

Temps will eventually climbing into the low 40s by mid afternoon.

We’re expecting around .15″ of ice to accumulate around Pennsburg, with a half inch to an inch of snow and up to a quarter inch of ice further north in Lehigh County in Allentown.

If there are any questions, let us know. Thx!
