Light precipitation possible late Tuesday night through early Wednesday

Jeff MendelsonConnecticut

Good Morning:

Here is a quick weather update….

We’re continuing to watch a storm moving off the SE US coast late Tuesday and out into the Atlantic Ocean by midday Wednesday.

However, this system should come close enough to brush the area with some light precipitation from about 2AM Wednesday through 11AM Wednesday.

With temps expected to be about 30 or 31 degrees when the precip begins (climbing to near 39 by late morning), a very light mix of sleet, freezing rain, freezing drizzle and a few snowflakes will develop and continue, gradually changing over to mainly light rain and sprinkles by mid-late morning Wednesday before ending.

At this time, while we’re not expecting any snow accumulation, some elevated secondary side roads, sidewalks and other colder surfaces (bridges and some overpasses) could become quite slippery and perhaps even a bit icy before daybreak Wednesday morning and continue into the rush hour.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the latest forecast guidance and text you any updates Tuesday afternoon. Thx!
